Ahmet Özkal

Ahmet Özkal, who laid the foundations of our facility in 1974, used it for vacation purposes until 1981. In 1981, he started operating Kumlubükü Yacht Club as a restaurant.

Ahmet Özkal, also known as ‘Dutch Ahmet,’ the founder of Turkey’s first yacht club, frequented by jet-set celebrities worldwide, opened a restaurant in 1974 in Kumlubük, a pristine bay in Marmaris that he fell in love with by chance. He quickly transformed his establishment into a popular spot for celebrities. Known for his charisma by his friends, Ahmet Özkal married Şirin Özkal three years after the founding of his business. He passed away in 2013 after a life lived to the fullest.
